The sooner the Director seeks advice, the lower the costs are likely to be.  As long as you deal with matters early, costs can be limited.

The golden rule is that the earlier you deal with a threatened claim, the cheaper it is. Ignoring threatened claims is not advised as they are unlikely to be dropped and you could, if formal proceedings are issued, be faced with paying the Secretary of State’s legal costs as well.
